VFX Demo Reels
My latest 2007 reel is below. Below that are links to my previous reels, including my student one! Because of the H.264 codec, this online video requires Quicktime 7! If you wish to download this reel, the link is below.
My compositing shots in the reel below come from; Pirates of the Caribbean: At Worlds End, Flags of our Fathers, Charlotte's Web, Matrix Revolutions, Constantine, Ghost Ship, and Hellboy. Check out the Gallery for shot breakdowns and script screenshots of the shots on this reel as well as other shots not worthy enough to be shown. A HD version will be coming soon! Also check out my Filmography to see other films that I've worked on that didn't make the cut into this reel.

Your current reel quality is a given.
Glad you put the student reel aruna.
Like how a learning artist dates/logs his sketches to see progress.
I'll find it more(student reel) useful to show students :) .

Hi Aruna, I'm a real newbie in VFX business and need to start somewhere. I'm learning Shake and am starting to feel at home to do some simple 2d tracking and grading. My main goal is to be able to advertise my online editing suite services and also be able to do some compositing and VFX.
I currently run a Quad G5 on a X1900, with RGB 4:4:4 HD-SDI hardware, 230 Mb/sec array, video scopes and calibrated monitor, 2x 23" Cine Displays, a Wacom A5 Wide Tablet, a trackball, full Final Cut Studio 2 Suite and Shake 4.1.
Where should I start Aruna?
My next job should be a series of stop motion shots for a music video... HELP!
P.S. Being able to do what you most love is PRICELESS! you are an amazingly rare talent! Great Job.

Hi there, could you have done any of this comps in Shake? which packages you think are more respectable regarding comp work? Tnxs!

Several of the shots shown in the reel were done in Shake (most noteably Constantine, Matrix, and Hellboy)! I think any package is competent in the hands of the right artist. :)

Ok, I understand that one's talent will do great work on a piece of paper, I asked cause there are packages where the machine gets in the way between you and your work, and there are others where you do things more naturally and easily. Thanks for your comment Aruna. I currently am working with shake around here and am getting quite fond of it. But if I feel I'm loosing too much I will have to learn to work with something else instead.
We are working in some music videos and some promos, and for now 3D work is done somewhere else. I want to change that too. Can you recommend me something to introduce in our pipeline? Cinema4D, Maya, 3DS Max, Lightwave, Blender ;-) ?
Cheers

I was wondering that only in your student demo reel, you only described what you have done as a part of that reel and not the others?
Please check out my demo reel and think of the comparison to your student demo reel. This is only to think what we were able to afford at the time with the knowledge we have created under student status.
I would greatly appreciate an honest critique, thanks.
