One of the many types of shots done on this show involved close-ups of Templeton the rat (voiced by Steve Buscemi) layered among the live action plates. On almost all of the live action footage we were required to create CG hay in order to properly cast shadows. In addition, the depth of field on many of these shots had to be faked within Shake. |

This Quicktime illustrates two shots, cut back to back as appearing in the film, that show the integration of the CG hay with Templetons movements. In both, the shadows had to match the trough behind him. I also adjusted the focus on the first shot since it originally had out of focus hay. Shadows were matched to the trough shadow behind Templeton. A little dust hit added in Shake adds some integration. |

One the shots that occurs near the end of the film, Templeton turns and contemplates Charlotte. In addition to compositing him into the live action environment, the rack focus is faked as well. There were numerous iterations to get Templeton just right, as well as fixing some reflections in his eyes and addressing the visual effects supervisors concerns. DOF was faked using the embedded Zdepth path that we are given. |

This is one of the several crow shots I did for the show. They were shot on bluescreen, independent of each other. I was tasked with combining the two separate takes into one, and adding the CG heads to the birds. This was further complicated by the sheen over the birds. Just the right amount of color correction had to be done to get both birds to sit together. The sky is a simple photography slightly warping over time. |

This shot went through numerous versions to get to the shot you see on the DVD. Templeton is covered with french fries from above at the fair. CG fries and Templeton were combined with a live action plate of french fries falling. This shot proved difficult because the fries in the box are steak cut, and he wallows in thin cut! Transulency and the majority of the color was accomplished by the TD, and I sweeted the shot by adding appropriate shadows and interaction with the grass. |

Another shot at the fair which illustrates Templetons integration with his environment. There were a number of over/under issues we had to deal with with the CG hay. It had to match the set hay, and we had to add his shadows over the live action way underneath. We received numerous lighting passes to get the right amount of fill and bounce into his fur, and the TDs did a great job. |
