This gallery showcases some of the shots I completed on The Adventures of Sharkboy and Lavagirl in 3-D, which premiered in theaters in June of 2005. Other gallery pages are listed above. Feel free to comment or ask questions about the shots below in the comments section below that.

This shot is the first of the sequence that we did for this film. All these shots were filmed on greenscreen with two cameras. The matchmove and roto departments did an excellent job of matching two cameras and painting out offending markers and rigs. |

In this shot our hero Sharkboy is composited in with CG plughounds and some live action sparks elements. Glows were added in the comp. |

Sharkboy is full of energy here, as you can see. This shot used many of the same methods as above to bring it to completion. |

As we near the end of the sequence, Lavagirl loses her foot. This involved using Shake's Warper and Retime tools to adjust when she would lift her foot up and put it back down. A CG prosthetic stump was also added. The deformation of the leg stretching was done in Shake by another artist. |
